Responsibilities

Cyber Security involves keeping abreast of evolving cyber threats and identifying new and sophisticated methods of detecting them. UL provides world class testing capabilities to our clients around the globe, and this internship will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in technology, safety, or engineering to support our mission.

Due to the nature of our work, you'll have the opportunity to think creatively and help develop innovative ideas that will enhance or improve delivery quality. You'll see us protect data and preserve the security and integrity of UL's global operations. Our team is involved with keeping abreast of evolving cyber threats and identifying new and sophisticated methods of detecting them across our hundreds of locations. Working within a diverse and international team, you'll be exposed to various stages of the infrastructure and service provision lifecycle.

Qualifications

n

n

n

+ Experience supporting Desktops/Laptops a plus.


n

+ Minimum of 3-6 months of technical support experience preferred, but not necessary.


n

+ Preference given to students with working knowledge of TCP/IP, Microsoft Word, Visio and Excel.


n

+ Understanding of PC and server operating systems, including Windows 7 and above.


n

+ Strong interest in Cyber Security and/or Intrusion Detection and Prevention


n

n

+ Strong desire to learn new technologies and basic knowledge of scripting.


n

+ Must currently be enrolled in a College or Technical Institute OR will have just graduated within 6 months of internship.


n

+ High degree of interest in IT.

n

+ Ability to work on a team and effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
