This job was posted by : For more information, please see: The City of Naperville's Transportation, Engineering & Development Business Group (TED) seeks two Code Enforcement Interns for full-time summer employment for the 2017 season. Duties include both office and field work (in all weather conditions). Typical work hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Term of employment is from approximately mid-May through mid-August. This position will be responsible for independent inspections, research, code programs administration, billing, and independent letter writing. Specific duties include high grass & weed violation enforcement, including verification of violations, notification of residents, file maintenance and follow-up inspections. Additional duties will include conducting fence permit inspections (to ensure fences are in compliance with clearance requirements and approved placement), sign ordinance inspections, and other miscellaneous code enforcement responsibilities.Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college-accredited curriculum, and majoring in criminal justice, planning, building, or in an engineering field. They must have strong oral and written communication skills; and experience with Word and Excel. Good organizational and customer service skills are required. Candidates must be able to bring positive energy and serious reliability to these roles.
