Job Overview – Utility Analyst IT Intern
This role is part of FIS Derivatives Utility Technology and is responsible for supporting large change the bank (CTB) projects for process re-engineering, process automation, system implementation, business growth, regulatory initiatives, and client driven change requests.
Business Analysis– Support large, complex CTB projects Milestones. Seek stakeholder engagement, draft business cases, support planning, and contribute to project execution.
Client Management – Handle client requirements and translate them into Technology deliverables.
This position will be based in Chicago and reporting to Global Functional leads in Books and Records (GMI) IT.
Work with Utility clients and Operations teams to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs.
Clearly articulates and document business requirements and translate it into functional specifications.
Work with Project Managers, Architects, Developers and other team members to design solutions.
Assesses risks of various solutions and prioritize competing business demands.
Coordinate project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate designs and validate proposed solutions.
Provide subject matter expertise to support development and testing of project deliverables and validation of quality assurance.
Provide analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.
Participates in Functionality Testing, Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing; document test cases and results.
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business or IT graduating in May or December 2019.
Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of written and verbal formats with a wide range of people; external individuals, organisations and agencies.
Demonstrated analytical skills
Strong client presentation skills.
Microsoft Project, Visio and Office.
Understanding of exchange traded derivatives and cleared OTC derivatives.
Ability to analyse problems and produce a range of options to arrive at preferred solution.
Knowledge of programming languages and test automation.
High level understanding of common Technology platforms used in derivatives middle and back office processing
