This internship is not a part of our Summer Internship program.

This position can sit in our Chicago office or Baltimore - Mt Washington office and is available immediately. The duration of this internship may last up to 1 year. Your standard hours will be determined.

The marketing department is a highly collaborative team of professionals who work closely with practice groups and sectors to build the reputation of our lawyers.

The team works with firm leaders to create and execute strategy that addresses DLA Piper’s business goals. We also measure business efforts to identify the most strategic focus for our lawyers’ efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have an interest in gaining practical work experience

  • Good technical skills, including working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Good attention to detail and organization skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and meet deadlines

Preferred Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program

  • Previous office or internship experience

What will your day look like?

You will perform administrative duties to include creating, editing and proofing documents, maintaining spreadsheets, and analyzing basic data. You will also research information, gather data, and prepare basic reports or analyses. Responsibilities also include collating documents, brochures or other materials; preparing basic correspondence; and accessing the document management system to update and/or create new documents as needed.

You may attend and participate in meetings to gain an understanding of department objectives and recent activities, and assist on special projects and assignments, answer phones, file and respond to questions as necessary.
