This job was posted by : For more information, please see: JOB SUMMARY: Assist the Intermodal Operations team in market planning, carrier management, equipment positioning & distribution, and other projects as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

+ Develop strong professional relationships with vendors and assist them in all operational aspects

+ Communicate effectively with vendors, internal Hub departments, and other Hub offices

+ Work with carriers and Account Management to ensure on time performance of customer shipments, providing solutions to resolve problems as needed

+ Manage the movement and distribution of available containers within the network

+ Develop and execute equipment repositioning plans, and equipment utilization goals

+ Review Hub Group's system utilizing GPS and reporting, resolving discrepancies as needed

+ Utilize reporting tools to review trends and forecasts to plan and ensure fluid operations within the market / network

+ Work collaboratively with team members to meet and exceed assigned metrics and goals

+ Manage the execution of projects as assigned

+ Must be a self-starter, and have the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of the Hub organization, its customers and carriers in a manner that consistently produces results

+ Knowledge of various Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Excel and Word

+ Customer Service / Operations experience preferred but not required

+ Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

+ Experience in the transportation industry is preferred but not required

+ Enrolled in a transportation, logistics, or supply chain undergraduate degree program for the duration of the internship

This position is a school year internship starting in September 2017 and ending in May 2018. All applicants must be able to work 20 hours a week.
